THE MOST BORING VIDEO GAME EVER!

Just pop this tape in, take aim, and watch while the images onscreen respond in no way to your actions. ACTION MAX!

Live action video died with Sewer Shark and Ground Zero Texas.

But after seeing this, I'm not sure why.

So... the skeleton dog... is that the kids' dog?

Dark.

I assumed the 'horrible creatures' would be the human kids we saw running into the house. But then I realized the ghosts were probably talking to those kids during their exposition-heavy introduction. So, really, the kids are us. And we are the kids. Killing the orange cats. And then I went insane.

So, are the ghosts just puppet versions of Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin in "Beetlejuice"?

this video game clip reminds me of the brand new animal collective video for 'brothersport.' HAHAHAHAHA!

I thought they were talking about Al-Quida...

So do you guys wanna' come over and play "Lazer tag"? Then later we could play a little ".38 Ambush Alley" on the Action Max. Plus my mom got us chips and soda and said we could watch USA "Up All Night".

..this is gonna' be the best sleepover ever.
:)

Is that Jeffrey Combs as Pops Ghostly?

It reminds me of that TV show Captain Power with the toys that "interacted" with the show.

In 1987 my cousins wanted an NES for Christmas and wound up with an Action Max. Their disappointment was so substantial that it could be traded on Wall Street.

....what?

This is my favourite video you have ever posted, after watching it 10 times I can say assuredly that it is gold. The best parts by far are when the son leaves for no reason mid sentence, twice.

Had to look up "Action Max" on Wiki out of curiosity. Wow. Just the most completely useless video game related thing I've ever heard of. Thanks for the trivia EIT!

That's just a nightmare waiting to happen.

What the hell...

so these ghosts are under the assumption that the kids have a gun?

"Pops Ghostly, are we safe now?"

"I don't know! Outside of a red number on the LCD, the ActionMax is incapable of expressing that!"

! I had this! It was before my family could afford to get me an NES and instead they bought me this at a yard sale. Jesus Christ, now that I think about it, I actually thought that this was fun.

Not only did I have an Action Max, I still have the tapes.
For some reason I just could never part with them.
The console itself is long gone, and I never did get the damned thing to work. Apparently it simply wouldn't work on a B&W TV.

Someone in my family got this for my brother and me back in the day. It was fun for a few minutes, until you realized that nothing you did had any effect on the video whatsoever.

unbelievable - you guys have unearthed one of the earliest memories of my childhood. i remember watching this a lot when i was about six years old, except with no action max, or any conception of it thereof. this video still sort of gives me the creeps.

lulz. I have one of these tapes in my video game collection, I have never been curious enough to actually watch it until now!

Crap. I was really hoping the "horrible creatures" would be really scary creatures... You know, like Jon Gosselin or Paris Hilton.

I had this when I was a kid...The best part is when you go through the portal to the ghostly space dimension of cheese 90s graphics...

Like the other people here, I had one of these because my parents wouldn't buy me a NES for Christmas. There's a bunch of other, similar videos out there for the Action Max too.

I distinctly remember one that's set in a submarine.
