This whole post seems to be deleting itself! It's a black ho...
I died laughing at the last comment. God damn!
Um...there are really no words.except maybe: word verification: "valingla"
Anon - mine was "napeas". Strangely suiting.
If fags are so gross why is everyone smoking indoors? Yuk yuk!
The 80's its still funny. Vimeo by the way is the worst video site on the internet whats with all that buffering?
I want names. And updates on their careers. If any of them have careers still, I want them to be confronted with this footage. Amirite?
George Wallace. Always funny. As are "fags".
The "Gal. Homo." gag is actually ALMOST funny. It took me a minute! (The rest of the video made me feel actually, physically threatened.)

Boooo your gay. Boo Hisssssssssssssss
How's this different from any Roast/Insult comedy you see on tv nowadays?
Jamie. Go away. You don't get it.
I'm not trolling, I'm being honest. When somebody like Lisa Lampanelli gets up and says "What a bunch of faggots here tonight." etc.Couldn't that be edited much in the same way this video has been done?
I see your point in regards to the Roast patter, but I wouldn't paint that as homophobia so much as an 'anything goes' mentality. And yes, the editing of this video definitely focuses on one element (fag jokes), but to have that element brought to the table again and again, performer after performer is truly bizarre. The fact is that homophobia was more than tolerated in the '80s. AIDS either induced panic or mute ignorance, the community was barely advancing beyond Stonewall, and, let's face it, the decade was a garbage dump for stand-up comedy. Thus, fag jokes a plenty. Just adopt a lisp and voila, comedy with a 'k'. It is more than a bit discomforting to watch that one audience member laugh, leer, then visibly appear disgusted at the mere thought that, yeah, the comedian in front of him could actually be gay. Would a lot of people react the same way in 2009? Sure. Doesn't make it any less sad.
Take another look at 2:03. Seriously now, was that Isaiah Washington?
that was that one guy from "Bachelor Party"...the guy who really wanted to party.
I remember when those "Gross jokes" books were the only place a 6th grader could get good "Your Mother..." and "Dead Baby" material to recite on the playground the next day.
Gives me teh sads. :[[[Dammit...that's the world I grew up with (OK OK OK ... "with which I grew up.")Still ... gives me teh sads.
Lol, the best jokes I've heard all day.
Oh geeze people, get over yourselves. boo f-ing hoo, i'm soooo sad that people made gay jokes back in the 80s. That's more amusing than the edited video. Those gay jokes aren't even that funny anyways so most of those comedians are either amateurs or just bad. nice editing job... but enough of the "We're so superior to people in the 80s" schtick.
And to the guy that called the 80s "a garbage dump of stand-up comedy", did you ever watch HBO back then? Comedy specials, hear about Monty Python's rise to super popularity, etc?the 1980s were when comedians (and the comedy industry as a whole) first started to became superstars and "household names". Yeah there were a lot of bad ones (there always are) but there were a lot of great ones too.
Tom Waites used to be a homophobic creep instead of a regular creep. Who knew? Also, I think you could easily write a screenplay based off of this show and pitch a Mad Men style drama about the '80s. I can't wait to see an oversimplified version of the '80s where everyone is doing coke and self-obsessed.
So these days, you can say "fags" as long as you don't think there's anything funny about it? Huh?
Sssssssss... There's something different about the jokes that were being made than what you usually see on TV today even though they were using the same words.
That bearded audience member seems to especially like faggot jokes
