WHITE PEOPLE, HAVING FUN

Who needs the 'comedy' part of a comedy tape when all you really need is the audience reactions?

While in the process of making this I met up with found footage junkie/Cinefile employee who I will call Bret (because that is his name). We were discussing various projects, and he mentioned he had already done exactly what I was trying to do- only more involved and set to a fantastic music video. So check it out, cause it rules! Also, if you live in or around the LA area you simply must visit Cinefile. It is the opinion of this ghoul that it's simply the greatest video store that ever existed.

Hey, I dunno if any of your contributors live in or around Houston, TX, but the best video store I've seen is Audio/Video Plus on Waugh. It has a whole room dedicated to Laserdisc, in 2009. Pretty much every single video tape ever, from tutorials on your new IBM/PC to that Supervan dreck you featured earlier...dunno how it's still open, maybe for money laundering purposes. Anyway, check it out if you're in Houston.

Unless I'm mistaken that comedian is Ken Davis. I'm ashamed to say I've seen him by happenstance more than once. No wait, I mean proud. Yes, seeing him was quite cool of me.

I'm in Houston... I might check it out if they have a decent DVD collection?

1:25 to 1:29 on the first video. On the right, with the goatee. I do believe we have found a child molester.

John, they don't have many DVDs. It's all VHS, Laserdisc, and even Betamax. Even if you don't rent anything you should stop in, I swear it's the closest thing to traveling backwards in time I've ever experienced.

I assume that title is a Wonder Showzen reference?

Gizzmonic-

Audio/Video Plus sounds right up our alley. The more a video store seems like a front, the more Terrible the selection in our experience. We are currently in the planning stages of an EIT Texas road trip (more details to come) so we'll have to look it up! Thanks!

Both of these are brilliant.
With or without music. Funny and in a distant way suggests the tragedy of the human condition.

@Kirk D. - thanks for the info on who the comedian was. It gave me horrible flashbacks of Mark Lowry who I also saw by happenstance as a child. Yes... Happenstance...

the audience for that "comedy" show had more sweaters per square foot than the average LL Bean catalog, amiright?

This has to be one of best documented archives of sweater/turtleneck fashion ensembles I've ever seen.

Ugly white people + ugly clothes + hacky comedian = BRANSON! Where else could such a shitstorm of ugliness occur? And dear God he used a "Got milk" joke, which probably means this video isn't even that old.
