Pills are amazing.

I like how Aunt Eleanor talks about her "gem" in this video, and in the other video we get to observe the BAND "Jem." A nice little segue.

Happiness is only a few milligrams.

As a person that suffers from depression and anxiety I know the importance of medication. However this infomercial can be a little misleading. Seems they make you think taking the anti-depressant will put you into 'Happyville.'Unless you are bi-polar that is not going to happen. The happiness you may feel is the relief from the anxiety, rumination and depression. It would have been nice to see what the medication was in general. I wonder if it was Prozac? In the early and mid 90's when Prozac was all the rage people were calling it the 'happy pill'. No wonder why we are an over medicated society.

What FilmBug said. Also, I'm currently on Prozac, but I'm dealing with anxiety issues that aren't quite treated by it. It's always good to have counseling in conjunction with medication (at least at the beginning). So again, the commercial is misleading because it seems like these people need more help than just a happy pill.

"I just wanted to see colors again."

FilmBug, FilmBug, you don't even — you're glib. You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, FilmBug, OK. That's what I've done. You don't know the history of psychiatry, I do.

ah, schadenfreude.
by the way, I hope you're doing okay ThefilmBug and voraciousboot. I hope your depression and anxiety aren't side-effects of watching videos on EIT, although that could account for some of it...

I have to take three pills a day to cope with the lack of EIT screenings in the SF Bay Area.

I have never understood depression.
My opinion of people who have it is that they arent tough enough to deal with real life, they're quitters, whiners etc.

However, according to scientific research, it is not those people's fault, they aren't necessarily weak. It's a chemical imbalance which can be regulated by chemicals.

Hell, I've taken pills recreationaly to do (more or less, give or take some trippy visuals) the same thing.

That is all.

ps good luck with the depression, bro.

Hell, I've eaten sugar recreationaly to do (more or less, give or take some hyperactivity) the same thing.

That is all.

ps good luck with the depression, bro.

All you mental patients making comments should shut up and take your pills. Continue taking them, even if your comments are making you feel better.

Hell, I could put stuff about my severe depression on here but screw that, I want to know what's up with the lady at the end!

Jerome doesn't need an antidepressant, he needs an orthodontist.

@Thefilmbug Tom C was making fun of Tom Cruise when he said that to you. Google Tom Cruise and Brooke Shields. Together

I just got out of a facility friday...stress related seizures. I take zoloft. They make you take out your shoe laces and stuff because of strangulation. I was in with some alchoholics and coke fiends and a couple depressed folks like me.
