Its weird because this type of thing was prevalent in US culture around the time we bombed Japan with nuclear bombs.
This is 50s culture, not 40s culture. Totally different things
The boys and I spontaneously broke into song and dance at Rockefeller Center but the ice made it dangerous. I cut the shit out of Bruce's denim jacket with my ice skate. Bruce played the part of the clownish retard featured prominently in this video.
This scene appears to be some strange hybrid between Bollywood and "Grease" created on the island of Dr. Moreau.
Asians clapping out of time to the music? No way!
What the hell does this have to do with Japan?
SWOONING.
Was this filmed in North Korea because this was totally Seoul-less! Zing!!!!
This isn't so bad. I was expecting something a lot worse. It's perky and kind of silly, but I'd get a kick out of it if I saw them in person.
I'm aware this question is pointless, but I'll ask it anyway...Why are they wearing skates if they aren't going to skate?!? I mean AT ALL!!
Before our humble species finally destroys itself, we will have to place this clip and a fiberglass chili dog into a time capsule so alien cultures can study how bad ass we were.
It's the Korean Nick Rivers! I'm pretty sure that makes this the opposite of terrible.
-Also, I'm totally not sure if he's singing in Korean or Cantonese, but I'm pretty sure dancing the Carlton means the same thing no matter what culture you're from.
Did I hear an "I like turtles" in there?
This is just screaming for a mashup with Gangnam Style. Do it now!!!
My local roller rink has many more pregnant 16 yr olds
Inspector Wears Skirts from 1988 (pre-Carlton, folks!), a fairly well-regarded Hong Kong action-comedy, and hardly "terrible". You guys obviously know all this because you stuck Cynthia Rothrock's name in the tags even though she's not in the clip. :) The singer is Alex To, big Cantopop singer at the time. Ahh, the goofy memories come sailin' in . . .
Yeah, I'm disappointed by this video's lack of Cynthia Rothrock. May she kick you in the groin for taking her name in vain.
Also, I get the feeling that those skates' "wheels" don't roll at all.
I swear I saw some dance moves from Thriller in that dance montage!
