The 1984 Los Angeles Comedy Competition (hosted by Jay Leno) is the video that got me into both thrift store videos and horrible stand-up comedy.

Ironic white boy rapping is pretty much the new minstrel show.
Steve Oedekerk?
"Thumb Wars" Steve Oedekerk?
"Kung Pow!: Enter the Fist" Steve Oedekerk?
Unf.
That was so painful I couldn't even finish watching it.
I love how the clapping just slowly dies as the crowd realizes what it is that they are taking part in.
Dude! That guy's a famous movie producer. Worked on In Living Color, Ace Ventura, Bruce Almight....
Whoa... awful comedy.
How is this even a real thing?
Knowing Oedekerk, I wonder if this was really him just turning it around on the audience? Seems like something he'd do - the joke is that he's showing how easily led people are when their brains are manipulated like that.
Or am I giving him too much credit?
Anyone have the video?
