I actually saw this movie as a kid once on the Disney channel I think
I can say I'm surprised to see it wind up here
the name of this movie is "Magic Island" by the way
it's really not too bad as far as DTV kid's movies from the 90's go, I'm dead serious
That sand shark looks like an ancestor of Rigel from Farscape.

Oh, and the likelihood of any animal blowing a gum bubble after eating several chewed pieces is pretty darned unlikely...other than that, this all seems pretty accurate...
