HAVE YOU BEEN LEFT BEHIND???

On the cover of the vhs box it says "HAVE YOU BEEN LEFT BEHIND? IF YOU FIND THIS TAPE, PLAY IT IMMEDIATELY. YOUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT!"
So here is this important tape in it's entirety.

  3. wow, i actually watched this entire thing. i attended a christian high school and remember when all the kiddies were reading the LEFT BEHIND book series... sigh...

at first i wasn't sure this was worth the effort but the closing, "every christian needs to keep a copy of this video accessible in his or her home for those left behind" was worth the wait.

  4. I was really intrigued by this video and did some Googling. From imdb:

"Inspired by a scene in the Christian novel "Left Behind", in which a video created years before by a pastor explains why millions of Christians have seemingly vanished. The video is presented as an actual production of the fictional Pastor Vernon Billings and the New Hope Village Church. There is no title screen, and the actor portrayinga Billings is not credited."

  6. You know, for a best-selling book, the bible is awfully convoluted and rambling. I suspect the reviewers were paid off by the publisher.

I knew that VHS tapes were apocalypse proof. All that's left is just us sinners and our VHS tapes and VCRs.

  10. Great earthquakes. Floods. Wars. Corrupt governments. Deaths. Lying politicians.

    Has the rapture already happened?

  11. Really rubbing it in with all the scenes of natural beauty that has no doubt been destroyed in the aforementioned thermo-nuclear wars.

  12. if there was a nuclear war, there wouldn't be anyone alive in America to watch this tape

here's the scary thing, unlike the Rapture, a nuclear war could actually happen

  15. Thanks for your comment, Max. After being tipped off by your google search, I now see this as pure genius.

  16. 'Cos if all these people just disappear, I'm SURE the electricity will still be on. The electricity will just see its way out of the plant and into your house. OK. Thanks, Preacher.

  20. I almost died when I saw that they put credits at the end. Don't think that will be of much comfort to those left behind.

  21. I love how he posits that the Antichrist will come from Europe. Because that could never happen in America. Unless it was a Democrat, if course. A bi-racial Democrat who won an election with mass appeal and then failed to deliver on some pretty hefty campaign promises OH MY GO-

  22. I want those minutes of my life back.

  23. Well, according to Futurama, the second coming of Christ erased all of the VHS tapes in existence, so I guess whoever made this digital did us post-apocalyptic dwellers a "favor."

  24. I love his arrogance!

  25. I do find it really neat that they used the name of the pastor and church from Left Behind - even if it's bull, that still adds a layer of strangeness to it I can dig.

  26. I think I read somewhere that although this was based on the Left Behind series, this video was meant to be left for nonbelievers in earnest. It might have been in Rapture Ready. I highly recommend that for anyone curious about Christian pop culture. And I apologise for sounding like a promo tool.

  27. "what sounded ludicrous before might sound logical now, but it's not". does this not apply to the idea of the rapture...

  28. We need to get this on DVD and iTunes ASAP. Because odds are there won't be any VCRs around...

  29. Woops, the video done got raptured!

  30. Damn, luckily I got to see the video before it went to heaven. Speaking of which, if this got taken down, how will people get to know how to be saved during (or after, I don't care) the rapture?

  31. ^^^ Foreshadowing, anyone?

  32. poor God! he gets the blame and credit for everything man can do or conger. my favorite biblical passage is " Be still and know that i am". i wish more people would understand the beauty in that and SHUT UP!!!

video recording is wholly wrong! Unless a person watches it before the Churches leaves the Earth. A Left Behind person will need to look to the 144,000 male Jews from the 12 Tribes of Israel. A left behind person will need a seal on their forehead in order to be in the Kingdom of God. A Left Behind person can help the 144,000 Jews cos they won't have a home and they
are the End Time Evangelists before
the 1000 Millennium starts. thank you for your time and patience.

  34. I was about to say something like "Wouldn't it be awkward if end of the world comes and this guy gets..... Left Behind!" But Max is right, it's fake. Though it does seem exactly like what some smarmy pastor would create, complete with the scrolling text and an overt reference to a religious science fiction series.
