Is there more than one 'Gate' series? I have seen a movie called Gate 2 which features a little demon in a bird cage that grants monkey's paw style wishes and gives people the finger. I think it's this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099636/
but I don't think that's the same one as this movie -- else how did you leave out all the shots of the little demon?
I remember them going to a restaurant and throwing some money on the table, that instantly turned to shit. A more powerful lesson for b-horror movies if I do say so myself.
This one isn't nearly as good as the classic original. Still a fun time though.
