MORE JOKES FOR JESUS!

I'm not done with this tape by a long shot. More to come...

  1. *weeps* That was utterly horrible.

  2. I heard there was a second Blue Collar Comedy Tour. I bet this guy was on it.

  3. I'm pretty sure there is a case for copyright infringement here. I think he stole that music from that soft rock/pop song in the early 90's by that lady, I think it was Amy Grant, Celine Dion, or someone else from that era.

  4. Amy Grant's "Baby Baby". I'm guessing his spoof is based on his audience's familiarity with horrible Christian lite-rock, from which she crossed over into horrible mainstream lite-rock.

He's 'satirizing' biblical language that doesn't apply today. Which, for fundamentalists, is probably risque. Too bad he didn't take on any of the sexism or homophobia.

  5. again, bringing back all repressed memories from my evangelical childhood. trigger my PTSD one more time, and my therapist shall send you a bill.

  6. With the sound quality on this, I have a hard time telling what is and isn't part of his "wacky" singing voice. Either way, somebody should find this guy and cut out his vocal chords.

Is this something that Christians actually find funny? I don't get it. It's actually kind of lecherous. Also, of all the douchebags who have ever replicated the beginning of Don't Look Back in their videos, this guy deserves to get away with it the least.

  7. Pardon me while I go take a shower with my underwear on, curled in a fetal position, sobbing

  8. This guy is Mark Lowry. He was like the Weird Al of the Christian world in the 90s. He spoofed popular Christian songs, so that's why it sounds like Amy Grant's song "Baby Baby." He isn't being serious in the videos. He was a Christian comedian.

  9. 3:27 Anon - Just because it's "comedy", doesn't mean it isn't schlocky.

  10. "..if Solomon can't shade tip

    ....Baby, Baby why not me?"

    Nice find Ghoolio,
I might even say it was a "miracle"

    see you in NY :)

  11. even if he was supposed to be the Weird Al for Christians that was just...horrible..I feel insulted after watching this..at least Weird Al can be entertaining this was just....ugh..makes me wanna go punch some puppies.

  12. I was wondering when Mark Lowry would show up here. We owned at least three of his tapes.

I remember enjoying his stand-up routines, then getting bummed out when he (A) did a song, or (B) started "preaching."

Does the EIT crew have any "McGee and Me!" lying around?

  13. yeah solomon was a great "lover" to all the wives he owned. Sure.

    What a knob.

  14. I see he is quite a fan of those Billy Bob teeth.

  15. So Tom Arnold became a Christian comedian?

  16. "Lowry is single and has no children." - Shocking.

  17. I don't by this video's unrealistic premise for one minute:

If that were the real Solomon he would have had this guy OFFED for mocking/depicting him in a badly written & sang song. Then Solomon would have burned the electric keyboard for being an evil spirit. Or erected a temple to it. Or both.

  18. He's like a Christian version of Full Houses Joey.

    Oh god the horror....

    the horror.

  19. Ha! I should track down some MGee and Me tapes and mail them in if EIT doesn't happen to have any. As a pastor's kid, I have been subjected to many terrible Christian cartoons/kids shows in my youth. But this guy I think I missed, luckily.
I would kinda like to see his standup, though...

  20. My parents made me go to this DB's concert when I was a kid. I think that was grounds for child abuse.
    *shudders at the memory*

  21. Dear heavens, please bring back the sheep lady.

  22. I think he answers his own question of "Why not me?" with this video.

    ReplyDelete
  23. why is he harassing those jewish women on the streets?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh man. Teachers at my school loved to show us kids Mark Lowry tapes. I'm kind of surprised EIT hadn't posted any of his stuff before.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wait a minute! If this Mark Lowry is the "Weird Al" of the Christian world, than to what world is Weird Al the "Weird Al" of?????

    ReplyDelete
  26. WOW. I must say, I'm so surprised to be hearing from people who were brought up with an evangelical upbringing because if I were raised on this crap, I would have ended my life long before EIT ever even existed.

I commend all of you who have lived to tell EIT your tales of sorrow.

  27. The shot with Solomon facepalming pretty much sums up the whole video.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Until I saw it visually represented I never quite understood how creepy it is for a guy to have 700 wives.

That's too many wives, Solomon! What the hell is wrong with you?

Also, like... why isn't Weird Al the Christian Weird Al? Was "Like a Surgeon" too risque or something?

  29. After watching this, one can't help but feel the urge to go running aimlessly into a minefield, blindfolded.

  30. this guys a tool...ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  31. baby, baby, why not me?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Everything about the 90's was horrible. Why single out the one who actually has a good message behind it? At least he can make fun of himself and not be a miserable critic who probably sported parachute pants.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I bet the guy has mood swings that'd make Mel Gibson blush.

    ReplyDelete
  34. And lo and behond, King Solomon's pick up lines for YOU to follow at home: http://hebrewoldtestament.com/B22C007.htm

Commandment 11: Thou shalt get laid tonight.

  35. This guy dances like he's in a bollywood film, and he looks like a down syndrome version of Quentin Tarantino.

  37. he sings with the gather vocal band...

    ReplyDelete
  38. This guy goes into such an utterly different and strange world of crappiness than any garden variety Weird Al wannabe could. It's the 90's tucked-in shirts and gelled hair mixed with the awkward chorus about Solomon and whatever retarded shit he supposedly said about women that makes me feel particularly woozy. And want to watch it again.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I had successfully erased all memory of Mark Lowry from my mind for nearly eight years. And now this!

I guess this is what I get for
subscribing to a site like EIT.

PS: Holy Crap he does looke like Quentin Tarantino

PSS: Do you have any videos of Quigly's Village?

    ReplyDelete
  40. The things that pass for humor in the Bible. I was at a wedding just a couple months back and the pastor was going on about Solomon's "flattering" words, trying to bring the house down. I think the one or two babies that weren't crying up to that point then burst into flames.

    True story.

    ReplyDelete
  41. this is so horrible I can't even laugh at it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. The fact that he tries to emulate Bob Dylan's music video for "Subterranean Homesick Blues" makes me so unbelievably sad.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mark Lowry is single with no children. That's from his Wikipedia article.
