At first I thought that ballerina had to be bulimic, but then I realized that she probably just vomits because she hears those kids singing all the time.
I can imagine the director telling those kids to smile harder over and over until everyone on the set hated each other and there's this uncomfortable crazy atmosphere and did people ever really wear clothes like that.
I doubt this was the intended effect, but I am now filled with hate.
