A GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE

We at EverythingIsTerrible! invite you now to sit back, fix your gaze into the portal of excess and truth, and embark with us, your guides, Yonder Vittles and Defenestrator III: On Broken Glass, as we exit the Old World for a brief 3 minutes and 41 seconds and journey into the distant and harmonious lands of the future.

Please cover your eyes as you cross the post-apocalyptic boobs if you are taking your journey at work.

  1. Did no one inform the bad guys that their post-apocalyptic nightmare looks very, well, gay? Bejewelled angel winged motorcycles and neon catwalks look like they inspire Pride, not fear.

  2. A few of those mutated marauders looked like Pepperment Park puppets. And that made things much scarier.

  3. Oh come on, Anonymous, as if movie villainy has ever tried to distinguish effeminacy from evilness. Lord Farquod? Prince John? Virtually every bond villain ever? Loki? Baron Harkonnen? Jim Moriarty? King Xerces? Dr. Smith? King Herod? Ultra-Man? Dashiell Hammett? Watch some old TV/movies -- it's all about the He-Man kicking the perverted sissy-man's ass.

  5. I know why they are searching for water.....look at all the black leather they're wearing. Can't be too cool in those outfits.

  6. That's great, I wish I could place them all.

    Texas Gladiators 2020
    Warriors of the Year 2072

The last clip shown is on the tip of my tongue but the names were all so similar it has been lost with time.

I might have gone with some 1990: Bronx Warriors.

  11. @2nd anon: yes. You're correct, evil = non-masculinity for Hollywood (with a few reversals in the 80s e.g. Mark Hamill, Michael J Fox, Michael Keaton). The best (high camp) example was 5000 Fingers Of Dr. T, where the villain sings about how much he loves to dress up. I'm just always surprised that's supposed to be threatening. If the apocalpse has multi-coloured neon lights, I won't mind it at all.
