I thought I loved all old skool hip hop about food (the macaroni's soggy, the peas are mushed, and the chicken taste like wood), but this was a sad attempt to make rappers out of actors. They were not moved to song by stomach pains. This was insincere... "Rappin" is nothing more than a "Krush Groove" ripoff! Yo, Fat Boys, these sucker MCs want served, so let's serve em' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu-s-SeigWs
Is this Rappin'? I saw this in the cinema was I was 10. That must be why I didn't find it that terrible, just cheerful and very earnest. The man likes food.
Don't you just hate it when fat people show up and eat all the food in your warehouse while rapping, resulting in you getting fired? 'Tis an everyman's tale of woe.
Awww HELL no...and I thought being known as the Prince of Soul Glo was the lowlight of Eriq Lasalle's career (don't get me wrong, Coming America is still a great movie)...
The other guy (who eats the cake), is the only actual rapper in this clip. His name is "Prince Markie Dee" and he was a founding member of the 80's rap group called...
How bad? I couldn't finish it.
ReplyDeleteOk, I took a break. I returned to it where I left it, at midpoint, I was then able to complete it. Whew!
ReplyDeleteOMG that's Eriq Lasalle from ER! And...Mario Van Peebles? And Dwayne Wayne?
ReplyDeleteWe keep our cakes in the warehouse.
ReplyDeleteGAHHH EIT how do u find this garbage gahhhh
ReplyDeleteThat's how I lost my first job :'(
ReplyDeleteIsn't it completely racist to be black and then wear a confederate army cap?
ReplyDelete@ first anon: It was bad, but it was no Heavy Metal Madness. That took some real fortitude to endure through.
most brutal video of 2011
ReplyDeleteWhere do I get my fresh berrinade?
ReplyDeleteWas that Ron Paul at the end who showed up and fired him?
ReplyDeleteHUMBLE beginnings.

ReplyDeleteI love Rappin'! I got it on DVD for my birthday one year. The whole movie is just this good.
ReplyDeleteALSO! Among all the other stars mentioned, Harry Goz, voice of Capt. Murphy on Sealab 2021, plays a mean businessman.

ReplyDeleteFor a d00d who loves food, he sure did throw a lot of it on the dirty warehouse floor. :(
ReplyDeleteDr - it's a Union cap unless it's grey. So you know, some black people fly the Stars & Bars in the South.
ReplyDeleteThat fat guy had the worst rhythm of all time. Kadeem Hardison, after being in this video, do you want to take the stairs or the window?
