Ever wish that the internet were still as exciting and befuddling as it was when videos like this were made? Sometimes I miss the sound of a modem dialing in.
I'm going to go out on a limb here - and posit that the chunky geek explaining emoticons is pure genius. Assuming he's also the fellow loudly repeating "SPAM", I think he is a modern master of performance poetry.
holy shit! the "here's a list of cool news groups" guy at 1:25 is Trent Haaga from Troma's Egde TV, Terror Firmer, Citizen Toxie, and probably more Tromatic Troma Movies!
Ah, those were the days, when checking your email at the table while you're out with your friend wasn't seen as extremely obnoxious and rude. Good times.

(I wrote the script for the instructional parts - the actual "using the internet" parts - and I'm the "instructor" in the video - the blonde in the burgundy sweater with the glasses)
