Sorry for the late post folks, but you know how it is...tax day, always working up until the last minute.

(For all you non-Americans out there in Terribleland, April 15 is when income taxes are due in the US and every year everyone shits their pants over it)

  3. No law, that is, except U.S. Code Title 26 Section 6151:

    (a) General rule
Except as otherwise provided in this subchapter, when a return of tax is required under this title or regulations, the person required to make such return shall, without assessment or notice and demand from the Secretary, pay such tax to the internal revenue officer with whom the return is filed, and shall pay such tax at the time and place fixed for filing the return (determined without regard to any extension of time for filing the return).

  7. It's easy to understand why some people would resent having their money used for services they don't personally use or want.

It's less easy to understand why they'd hire a terrifying reptillian space-woman to host a video for them.

    For god's sake woman, blink!

  8. The power of Christ compels you! (To pay your taxes so we can buy nice things.)

Though I must admit the whole anarchy thing has always sounded like fun.

  9. A friend of mine tried to get out of his taxes by citing this stuff. The IRS sent him a nice letter back saying "too fucking bad oh yeah, and here's a HUGE FINE for your time. kthxbai"

  10. To hell with federal taxes! I'm sick of supporting a national military anyway. I say it's time we return to feudalism.

  11. Why do I have to pay taxes!

However, I do want to spend more than the rest of the world combined on defense.

I should also be allowed to use the commons for free also.

  18. Taxes: Because without them, you'd have nothing to bitch about.

I got screwed on my taxes this year and I still recognize that the country doesn't run on magic.

  19. Look, guys, the producers of this program aren't advocating tax rebellion, just armed tax revolt. We're talking apples and oranges here, except the oranges taste and look exactly like apples.

  23. Hah. I'm not exactly sure why this was hysterical, but it was. Also not sure why anyone would have waited this long to do their taxes...did mine months ago. :P Sure is fun to say to the people trying to sell me tax services that I got my refund already. They get this glazed look in their eyes.

  25. Ironic that the "scenic backdrop" for the intro is at UCLA, a once-great public campus that's in danger of tanking from lack of public support to fund it, in one of the richest states in the country....

  26. I'm on a 1099. I made 150k through my business and I drove more than four thousand miles. My CPA said I don't have to file till October 15th. Capitalism and entrepreneurship bitches!

  27. Her features are creepy. She's like a drawing of a woman.

And shame on 4chan's Anonymous for lying to the lady that you can not pay taxes.

    ReplyDelete
  28. To Anonymous poster above: Why would you brag about how much money you made and how your taxes were delayed by several months?

  29. Wasn't sure who I was going to see first in this video: Troy McClure, Lionel Hutz, or Kevin Trudeau.

  31. In August 2005, the Justice Department announced that Royal Lamarr Hardy was sentenced to a 156-month prison term for, among other things, selling a tax evasion scheme called the “Reliance Defense” that incorrectly asserted the income tax laws were voluntary (i.e., the laws imposed no legal obligation to pay tax or file a return). Hardy was also ordered to pay costs of prosecution in the amount of $59,267.88, and restitution to the IRS for $197,555. See 2005 TNT 169-12 (Aug. 31, 2005).
