My terrible-o-meter iz at zero. As in, it went around a full circle. There really was video about collecting coupons? If my wife/girlfriend had a coupon index, I would test her for meth.
This was very well-done, but can we have more 'boring' videos? There's something creepy and hypnotic about late 80s synth that only EIT captures. I prefer my Terrible to be quietly disturbing... like the idea that poor people can save money by buying more things, or Jackie Zeeman's eyes.
Oh the humanity! As a youngin who worked at a supermarket back in the 80s, I know firsthand that coupons were some kind of obsession at the store I worked at...there was one lady who bought 20 Sunday newspapers JUST for the coupon inserts (bet they encourage such behaviors in this video!) and at the end of our shift, we had to ADD UP every last one of those motherfuckers...ending up as glassy-eyed as Jackie Zemen herself!
OMG My sister and some of my sisters in law have COUPON BOOKS! Where they categorize all these coupons in plastic sleeves! (shopping with THEM is FUN! or, eh, embarrassing...) This video totally reminded me of them. COUPON CRAZY!
P.S. Oh AND my sister get's a couple of newspapers too!
I'll say it again, we have the best commentors in the whole wide world. I will re-post a much less edit heavy version, just to show you how truly boring this tape is. It makes 'The Secrets Of Simple Packing' look like 'The Boxer's Omen.'
Holy sensory overload, Batman!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteSweet tunes! Anybody know who it is?

ReplyDeleteI like the soundtrack and visual manipulations once and awhile... if it compliments the editing while like this.
ReplyDeleteUsing Lightning Bolt for this caught me completely off guard. Nice choice! Personally, I enjoy these mind-fuck videos every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteLightning Bolt ftw!

Ah, good ol' Coral Sea laundry detergent. You may or may not remember their mascot, the Coral Sea Cucumber.

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see/hear that Lightning Bolt have cornered the licensing market of clipping coupons
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteDigging the napkin attached to the blonde hottie's hair. 80's fashion was so classy.
ReplyDeleteI have a new favorite EiT clip. Wow.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else suspect Jackie Zeman would fail a field sobriety test?
Thanks for reminding me; I need to buy some Puff-Puff.
ReplyDeleteGlad I bought my Puff-Puff before watching this video.
