  6. I want names. And updates on their careers. If any of them have careers still, I want them to be confronted with this footage. Amirite?

  7. The "Gal. Homo." gag is actually ALMOST funny. It took me a minute! (The rest of the video made me feel actually, physically threatened.)

  11. How's this different from any Roast/Insult comedy you see on tv nowadays?

  13. I'm not trolling, I'm being honest.

When somebody like Lisa Lampanelli gets up and says "What a bunch of faggots here tonight." etc.

Couldn't that be edited much in the same way this video has been done?

  16. I remember when those "Gross jokes" books were the only place a 6th grader could get good "Your Mother..." and "Dead Baby" material to recite on the playground the next day.

  19. Oh geeze people, get over yourselves. boo f-ing hoo, i'm soooo sad that people made gay jokes back in the 80s. That's more amusing than the edited video.

Those gay jokes aren't even that funny anyways so most of those comedians are either amateurs or just bad. nice editing job... but enough of the "We're so superior to people in the 80s" schtick.

  20. And to the guy that called the 80s "a garbage dump of stand-up comedy", did you ever watch HBO back then? Comedy specials, hear about Monty Python's rise to super popularity, etc?

the 1980s were when comedians (and the comedy industry as a whole) first started to became superstars and "household names". Yeah there were a lot of bad ones (there always are) but there were a lot of great ones too.

  21. Tom Waites used to be a homophobic creep instead of a regular creep. Who knew?

Also, I think you could easily write a screenplay based off of this show and pitch a Mad Men style drama about the '80s. I can't wait to see an oversimplified version of the '80s where everyone is doing coke and self-obsessed.

  22. So these days, you can say "fags" as long as you don't think there's anything funny about it? Huh?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sssssssss... There's something different about the jokes that were being made than what you usually see on TV today even though they were using the same words.
