I'll the first to admit that yes, my country has a long ways to go in the pursuit of awesomeness....this is certainly a step back from it. I can just imagine the newspapers:
Reuters Media/Canadian Press- Vancouver, BC "A 24-year old male is recovering in hospital today from a freak injury sustained during the 11th Annual National Xtreme Yo-Yo Competition. The competition drew an enormous crowd of 300 people from all over Canada. The injured party was attempting to perform what is called the "Beavertail Maneuver," and had to undergo surgery for injuries sustained to his pelvis, groin, left foot, and right arm."
I'm not sure where the Canada comments are coming from, but this is Hans Van Den Elzen, his girlfriend (at the time) Katie, and Julius. As far as I know, this was shot down in Tuscon, AZ while Hans was working for his Dad at ProYo. Hans was born in Michigan, so the responsibility for this shame lies entirely with the US.
0:40, looks like a baby flailing around on it's changing table.
ReplyDeleteAnd you gotta feel bad that these guys got laid off due to the global financial meltdown.
"I'm exhausted from all this yo-ing. Toss me a Mountain Dew, yo!"

ReplyDeleteToronto will never be a liveable city until these people are rounded up and locked away.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Canadians, this might be embarrassing, but we come from the country that produced Carrot Top, dessert pizzas, and manifest destiny. Ouch.
