NOBODY here is gonna mention that this fine piece of cinema has Tina Yothers of "Family Ties" fame in the cast? (1:00) Guess I'll point it out. She probably IS driving a cement truck right now.
If the 80's taught us anything, it is the importance of Driver's Ed. That and all Asian guys are cowboy MCs with mad dance floor skills. I miss Reagan's America.
Holy smokes, this movie is a time capsule of 80's TV stars: Alyssa Milano, Tina Yothers, Jackee, that guy from Night Court, that kid from ALF, and that lady from Small Wonder.
Dante you are a mensch.
ReplyDeleteI think those crazy kids are going to make it...well, except for that cement truck driving girl...and the rapping asian...
ReplyDeleteDude, that movie rocks. It's streaming on Netflix and is totes worth the price of admission. Also, Jackee.

ReplyDeleteI thought that looked like Tina Yothers.
ReplyDeleteFor 80s movies, this is still a much better portrayal of Asians than Long Duck Dong in 16 Candles. This guy seems... almost... human.
"This character needs a goal. She wants to drive a...cement truck. We're definitely getting an emmy for this."
ReplyDeleteI didn't know B.D. Wong could rap so well.

ReplyDeleteOh, and that football guy.
saw this on Hulu a few years back. it's probably still up there.
ReplyDeleteId rather get kicked in the nuts than have to sit through this whole movie. But Tina Yothers, thats a blast from the past.
ReplyDeleteMac!
